Domestic Violence Awareness Month

There are several ways to get involved during Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October. Showing your support for victims will directly impact the people we serve right here in our community – our neighbors.

Notes of Hope

Coming to the shelter is often a very scary, stressful and overwhelming time for victims and their children. You can show your support by writing notes of encouragement and hope. Simply pen short notes on the backs of the supplied cards, collect them and mail back to us. We’ll display them in the shelter for residents to see and feel uplifted and supported.

Social Media Support

Show your support during Domestic Violence Awareness Month by adding a badge to your Facebook and Twitter profile photo and by changing your Facebook cover image with the click of a button.

Purple Poster Patrol Event – October 16, 2016

CHOICES offers the only 24-hour crisis and information hotline in Franklin County. We want to make sure anyone in need knows there is a place to call to get advice and support from trained professionals, including safety planning to leave an abuser. That’s where you come in. We need help blanketing the city with flyers telling of CHOICES’ services and the hotline number.

You can participate by joining our party on Oct 16 at 3 p.m. We’ll meet outside Marcella’s in the Short North before going door-to-door distributing flyers. At 5 p.m. we’ll meet back up for dinner at Marcella’s. There will be a selection of free appetizers and a cash bar. Please RSVP by Oct 12 to Pam at pgeorgiana@lssco.org.
