CHOICES 2010 Annual Peacemaker Awards Luncheon

Mark your calendar for CHOICES' 2010 Annual Peacemaker Awards Luncheon being held Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency.

This year's luncheon will feature a special multimedia keynote presentation by photojournalist and activist Donna Ferrato. Through exhibitions of her pictures and lectures, Donna is recognized worldwide as one of the pre-eminent forces in the fight against the oppression of women. She became famous for achieving the seemingly impossible: establishing her career by visually capturing the horrors of family violence. Her unique ability to get behind closed doors has allowed her to capture the most complex moments in human interactions and relationships. Her photographs have changed laws and consistently challenged attitudes promoted by society about violence against women and children. And her iconic book, Living with the Enemy, has been reprinted three times and sold a record number of 40,000 copies worldwide.

The Peacemaker Awards Luncheon addresses the widespread effects of domestic violence and recognizes individuals who make positive strides to respond, educate, and advocate for change. In conjunction with the Luncheon, the Peacemaker Awards were established in 1995 to recognize those who work diligently to make our community a safer place.
